James Kithan, ISL player from Nagaland

James Kithan

James Kithan is a professional football who recently joined Northeast United FC from Churchill Brothers and he is set to become one of the first if not, the first Naga player to feature in an Indian Super League match if he gets a game time for the Highlanders.

He currently has a market value of ₹8 Million or $150k according to Transfermarkt.

Early Career

Born in Wokha, Nagaland, Kithan began his career in his native state with Kohima Komets. He soon moved to Kolkata to play for Peerless and then Mohammedan in the Calcutta Football League. In 2017, he once again moved south, this time to join Viva Chennai.

Churchill Brothers

Kithan joined Churchill Brothers prior to the 2017–18 I-League season. He made his professional debut for the club on 2 December 2017 against Shillong Lajong. He couldn’t help Churchill Brothers keep a clean sheet though as they fell 2–0. In playing the match, Kithan became only the second player in I-League history to come from Nagaland.

Northeast United FC

Following the path of Kivi Zhimomi, Kithan has joined Northeast United from an I-League Club.

He has a bright future ahead of him and if given the right coaching he could well become the National Team’s shot stopper in the near future only time will tell.

Professional Career Stats

He played 8 matches for the Churchill Brothers and even went on to win the ‘Man of the Match’ with his spectacular performance.

Now that he has moved to an even bigger team in the form of Northeast United, he will have to work even harder and prove his worth to the rest of the nation.

All the best to this talented lad!
